Our client has for over 9 years held the land and no reason whatever has been assigned for ejecting him and none of the tenants of the adjoining land have been disturbed in their holding, so that he is quite at a loss to account for the action of the Government.
Our client is not aware of having broken any of the conditions of Ordinance 5 of 1867 or any rules or orders made thereunder and we would also point out that the recent conditions for letting of Market Buildings under Ordinance 5 of 1867 published in the Gazette of the 8th instant were not approved by the Governor in Council until after the notice to quit had been served on our client.
Under these circumstances, we would again urge our client's claim and ask that an enquiry be held into the matter or the notice to quit be cancelled.
